we made it to jax christmas eve night so we could be there to see emme open presents on christmas morning. after brett's mom went to bed we set to work making a model of her real present so she'd have something to open.
this picture is misleading. i did most of the work on the popsicle stick adirondack chair while brett and the peanut gallery bossed me around. then brett took the finished product and tweaked it. the finished product ended up turning into an ornament that had a picture of emme in a swimsuit chillin in it. sadly, i accidentally deleted that picture. lame.
lemons and peppermint? yum.

emme got a kitchen for christmas! she will be a better cook than me in no time. no joke.
such a cutie.
brett got a mexican wrestling mask for christmas. again. he could supply masks to nacho libre and all his friends.
brett couldn't get enough of holding that baby will. seriously. especially in that cute santa outfit.
the day after christmas brett's dad, julie, and chad came for a quick visit.
we played trivial pursuit one night with brett's mom, then trivial pursuit again the next night with brett's dad & co, then loaded questions the next night.
if you've never played loaded questions before, you need to get your butt over to our house. it's hilarious (especially with someone as ridiculous as katie).
we finished up our trip by driving down to the temple and going to ikea in orlando. when we got home at 12:30am on wednesday, our house was 51 degrees! and lookin' toe' up!
present crafting + present wrapping + present unwrapping + quickly ditching gifts to pack & leave = this ridiculous mess
no worries though, we cleaned things up and set up some of our new acquisitions.
the candles and sticks are from ikea. the love bird shakers are from pier1. brett gave me this print from twig creative too! it's a quote from president uchtdorf that says "in family relationships love is really spelled time". love it.
tomorrow the christmas tree and nativity scene are getting put away until next year.
how sad.

I love that quote!! Also, I just realized my blog roll wasn't showing your blog as updated since mid-November! I should have known you wouldn't go so long without blogging and to check it! Anyway, I just spent the last 45 minutes catching up on your blog--just thought I'd let you know! Love ya!
of Freya, how I love, love, love your posts! Please never stop letting me spy into your neat life! And I love that quote too. Looks like you had a grand old Christmas. And I was relieved to see the picture of your home when you returned home from the Christmas madness...it looked just like mine did! So glad to know I'm not the only one! lol! :)
I'm with Kim. Whew for houses that look crazy after Christmas! I cleaned mine this morning and then brought everything in from the car... now it's all blowed up again. dang.
I totally begged and begged for that same pocket watch necklace! I didn't get it, but I'm glad I know who bought it out from right under me on etsy :)
