brett couldn't get that song out of his head. he excitedly sang it all weekend, and each round of happy's gets faster every time.
one problem with getting married in august is that august is not tulip season. so for our reception we settled for wildflowers and daisies, and now every anniversary brett will have to get creative with his flower choice. these bottles are actually from our centerpieces at our reception. i could stare at these puppies all the live long day.
brett took over anniversary planning this year. all i knew was that he made dinner reservations, but i didn't know where. to complete the surprise brett made me wear a blind fold while he zig zagged through town to our mystery destination. unfortunately for him i'm either a human gps or just a lucky guesser because i told him where we were three times, which made him promptly lie and tell me i was wrong to keep me confused.
we ended up at the melting pot, which i've been wanting to go to for ages. it was sooo worth it. the dessert was the best part. the flaming turtle. mmm. i could eat the fruit and rice crispy treats dipped in chocolate for every meal. the bill was pretty painful, but we didn't spend any money on our anniversary last year so it all averages out. we're continuing the sunday picnic in the park tradition, armed with a citronella candle this time.
with all these weddings this summer, i can't believe it's been two years since that was us. where does the time go? it makes me think of billy madison shaking that little fat kid's face telling him, "cherish it, you have to cherish it."
wise words from a wise man.

those are wise words. I quite suddenly find myself trying to plan 10th anniversary surprises. yikes! hooray for Mr. & Mrs. Rudder!
Yay! Thanks for sharing! I love the melting pot collage. You could teach me how to do that?
