nephew #6

 i woke up saturday morning just before eight, freaking out, until i realized it was the weekend and i wasn't supposed to be rolling up to work. apparently, at that exact same time my newest nephew decided to make his grand entrance... finally! he was only one day after his due date, but he'd been giving my sister the hardest time because he kept trying to come, but then he would change his mind once he got her to the hospital. he already takes after me. really he was just waiting for a tight birthday - 12/11/10.

check out that full head of hair! he don't play no games! he was one huge kid too, 9lb 2oz! poor kid broke his collar bone on the way out. 

 here's the proud mama! clara is such a pro! well technically she is a pro since this is her profession. she's usually the charge nurse on the mother baby floor on the weekends, so she was still at work on saturday, but this time she wasn't getting paid for it - she was the one being catered to by all her nurse friends/minions.

after racheal's baby shower me, sarah, and lolly went over to the hospital. then emily surprised us by coming from panama city. the only aunt missing was little miss sniffles herself, karley. stop being sick girl!

baby g was just borned here at this same hospital seven weeks ago. you can see everett is already close to her same size and probably heavier! i really wanted to pull a once in a lifetime prank on emily while everett was gone to get his x-ray. i wanted to wrap georgia up like everett so when she came in to meet him for the first time she'd think it was him, but we didn't jump on that prank fast enough. lame. 

i just really like this picture cause clara is so nonchalant. straight chillin in the hospital like it ain't no thang what she just did. it also always amazes me how comfortable she is with handling babies. she sure knows how to man handle those suckers, especially one with a broken collar bone! man handle isn't really the right word, but that's what i think of compared to how gingerly i hold and maneuver babies.  i'm soooo glad she's such an expert, one day i'll be pickin her brain about everything baby.
