the pic of the day archive has surprisingly been really useful for looking back to see what happened on what day, like a daily journal. and there are a lot of cool pictures i wouldn't have otherwise taken if it weren't for pic of the day. (there were also a lot of throw away filler pics that i took just because i had to.) it was also nice to have a weekly reason to post on the ol blog.
i went back through the pic of the day archive to find some of my favorites; it was hard to narrow it down. here they are in three categories: life, artsy, and events.

Yay for completing the challenge but boo for no regular picture posts! Thanks for totally making me miss Tally with the picture of Dad and James playing guitar! Good thing we're coming up this weekend. Still can't believe a tree fell on our house and there was only minimal damage--we are blessed!
I bet your pic of the day pics would make a really neat "year in review" photo poster. That would be so tight to see them all at once on one big print!
who knows, maybe I'll pic up the challenge!
