overbooked

2 baby showers
2 web design projects
1 history exam
1 one week boutique
1 jewelry party at my house
1 combined ym/yw with my girls in charge

and that's all this week and next week.

i do believe my life is overbooked these days.
tonight has been my first free night this week.

last weekend we put on one killer baby shower for my dog karley. (pics and post coming soon.) even though i took the day off from work on friday, i still ended up only getting three hours of sleep so i could finish everything that needed to get done.
after the shower, before i could even take a nap, i was at target copy getting invitations printed for the next baby shower.
why do i do this to myself? it's not on purpose, it's just things and people i love and have to do! how can i say no?
president uchtdorf's talk came to mind at around 3am as i was making the chocolate icing for the shower...

Second, forget not the difference between a good sacrifice and a foolish sacrifice.
An acceptable sacrifice is when we give up something good for something of far greater worth.
Giving up a little sleep to help a child who is having a nightmare is a good sacrifice. We all know this. Staying up all night, jeopardizing our own health, to make the perfect accessory for a daughter’s Sunday outfit may not be such a good sacrifice.
Dedicating some of our time to studying the scriptures or preparing to teach a lesson is a good sacrifice. Spending many hours stitching the title of the lesson into homemade pot holders for each member of your class perhaps may not be.
Every person and situation is different, and a good sacrifice in one instance might be a foolish sacrifice in another.
How can we tell the difference for our own situation? We can ask ourselves, “Am I committing my time and energies to the things that matter most?” There are so many good things to do, but we can’t do all of them. Our Heavenly Father is most pleased when we sacrifice something good for something far greater with an eternal perspective. Sometimes, that may even mean nurturing small but beautiful forget-me-not flowers instead of a large garden of exotic blooms.

here's another talk i felt was just for me. i knew going into general conference that i wanted to find better ways to spend/manage my time and here is a prime example of how i really need to make some changes.

here's all the lovely ladies who helped make karley's shower possible!
(p.s. my hair looks crazy long from how i'm standing. mermaid freya is back.)

i was at that mad house one week boutique because lolly, mindi, and i are starting up an event planning business! we got ourselves a booth at one week boutique to get some exposure and some clients. scope out our table if you're shopping there in the next couple days! and if not, check out our website! youandyours.biz

You are amazing (and crazy) with a schedule like that! No worries though the next big family baby shower will be for you which means you'll be going to bed early and we'll all be staying up way too late!

Love the table! I'm so sad I am missing One Week! And I must say that diaper cake is looking mighty fine--that's craftsmanship right there. ;)
