b & f: smooth, real smooth

me, brett, blake, and mark jones met up at winthrop to play some tennis. as per usual (that's a brett phrase, it kinda drives me nuts)...
until brett decided to show his not so smooth side.

 

we were all scattered around the court cleaning up balls, and that brett rudder decides it'd be a good idea to aim a ball directly at me. who aims a ball at a girl they like? oh yeah, a sixth grader that's who! ha. he hit me with that ball so haaarrd. we all couldn't stop laughing. brett was shocked, what were the odds he was actually going to have good aim?!

that sunday at church he discretely gave me a little note to apologize.

then came my turn to not be smooth...
one thursday after tnt, brett finally made his move to ask me on a real live date. unfortunately for him i was a little too dense to get it. the fall ball was coming up and i was hoping brett would ask me so i lingered for a while cleaning up chairs and such. brett was in the bat cave and doing random stuff for bishop so i finally gave up and decided to leave. to my happy surprise brett followed me out into the parking lot. i was expecting him to ask me to the dance, but he ended up getting a banana out of his car, giving it to me, and saying you get half off a banana split if you bring your own banana to brusters. 

apparently that was code for "we should go there together with this banana on a date to get banana splits."
over my head.
i drove off thinking, "well that was lame. what am i gonna do with this banana? maybe i'll make him some of my mom's sweet banana bread."

i suppose we both went home a little dejected that night.
