utah schmootah

we flew out of jax thursday morning so we spent the night on wednesday. we left after my class so it was a late night, the first of many on this trip.

after hittin' some waffles and oatmeal (and sneaking some fruit in our bag) we caught the shuttle for the airport.

baby g was really stoked to play in the airport and take her first plane ride.

after she passed out though, we stole her peanuts.

we were both scared to be the annoying people with the screaming kid on the plane, especially since the flight from baltimore to slc was five hours!
but georgia was amazing and barely made a peep. she just slept (a lot) and played.
lolly is a pro with baby wranglin' on a plane.

once we got to slc the other lolly picked us up and we headed to her in laws (my sister in law lolly's aunt's) house for a bridal shower.

here's lolly's mom (jackie), lolly's mom (maureen), and todd's mom (jan).
and all i have to say is, it's a small world after all.
maureen and jan were mission companions. jan hooked her up with her brother and they got married.
maureen and jackie were in a calling at church together and became really good friends, and it helped that they had daughters the same age who played together.
jan and her husband lived in tally for a little while and knew jackie and her husband a little bit before they had kids.
now fast forward to last year.
lolly my sister in law and andi (the other lolly's sister) schemed to hook up lolly with cousin todd. and it worked!
now everyone's related! crazy! that whole two lolly's thing is really going to be confusing.

after the bridal shower we kidnapped lolly and took her to todd's sister's house for a bachelorette party.

on friday i just hung out with the bride and did whatever errands she needed to do. when we were eating at cafe rio we overheard a couple at the next table say "and it's like our home teachers said..." what?! so strange to be in the mormon bubble! there was also a sign outside of a store that said "same day delivery to the mtc by the boy scouts" seriously?!

on the day of the wedding we woke up to a blanket of snow. and it snowed alll day. i've never seen it snow that much!

so sweet.
(it may not look it, but it was freezing! she never put her cape thing on either. crazy!)

childhood friendsies now married friendsies! i'm so glad i got to go!

bridesmaids!
bottom row left to right: friend, sister, bride, sister, cousin
top row: friend, cousin in law/friend, sister in law, and then we should photoshop lolly's too prego to travel sister in that hole there.

first dancin' it up (to the song from princess bride) and cake cutting. yum.

we danced our little hearts out. todd's brother who's on a mission was the most popular kid on the dance floor.

goodbye newlyweds! they headed off to disneyland!

on sunday we took it easy and hung out with lolly's family. renee made the long drive out to see us too! yay! utah needs to stop stealing people i love away from me!

we hung out with the stone clan one more time so lolly and andi could get a decent picture with their girlies. it blows my mind how big/old andi's baby is.

on the flight home we all got naps. hallelujah.
after four hours of sleep, we got to the slc airport at 5:40 and it was jammin'. there were a lot of missionaries heading out to the field which was so strange to see. we had a little mini heart attack about whether or not we'd catch our flight when we saw the security line was about a mile long, but luckily we got to skip ahead in the small child lane! thank you georgia!

once we were back to the land of beautiful weather (and humidity boo), bill, katie, emme, and will met us for dinner. emme is a hoot. she knows how it's done at restaurants, asking the waiter where her chicken is and what not. haha.

we finally  made it back to home at about 10:30 after enduring some depressing screaming by baby g.

whew.

are you as exhausted from reading this as i was living it?

sounds like you had a great time!! When Chris and I went to Ohio we hardly got any sleep either. I guess early flights are good and not so good. =)
