merry christmas eve!

twas the night before christmas and all through the house, cards games were being played, even by the mouse... (turns out there really is a mouse in our house)

happy christmas eve to all and to all a good night!

brett's family always plays cards at christmas and at the annual summer camping trip. this year i won the euchre and rook championships! which is saying a lot since me and my partner went up against brett and his dad for the rook title! brett added the rook championship at fall creek falls to wikipedia when he won so i guess i'll need to do that now... ha

it doesn't really feel like christmas to me, since it's my first christmas away from home, but i am happy because it's my first christmas with brett since he always goes away for christmas. right now my family is listening to my dad read luke 2, then singing christmas carols outside while holding candles (i can't remember how that started, but it's funny to see the wax on the front walk long after christmas has passed), and they would usually do secret santa gifts, but people like me are out of town. 

i hope santa treats you right and you remember Christ and what his birth meant for us all.
