all decked out

it's beginning to look a lot like christmas, minus the snow, or cold weather at all. i might have gone a little overboard this weekend: i busted out the bing crosby, burned my vanilla spice oil, and forced brett, candace, and renee to watch a dvd of a fireplace burning (just following mom's orders?) all while trimming the tree, then the next day i did it again when i put up the christmas tree for my parents since i stole their little one that requires less effort.

we've finally got something on our walls?
like a real house?
woah

i got crafty at church making this sign (isn't my
handwriting amazing? or it's just stenciled ha)
and this tube sock snow man
the craftiness is addicting and so i've decided to
make stockings for us.... we'll see how that goes.
here are me and keri kickin off the holiday season
right by runnin in the jingle bell run.
then we watched the parade with kalena&co
and i must say riker was a lot more fun this
year since he actually knew what was going on.

our house is lit up and festive now too!
the rule is that brett has to have the lights on
when i come home.
we wanted a real tree, but since we'll be out of town so much we decided to steal my parent's little guy fake tree. here we are putting on our first ornaments. brett chose the tennessee football player todd and sarah gave us...
...and i chose the gingerbread man candace gave me many moons ago (speakin of moons check out that toosh)
this is brett getting a little frust-er-ated. the stand for the tree was missing so it was a little unstable... we learned that the hard way when we tried to put on the star and the tree said "timber!" we had to ghetto rig it by wrapping a towel around it and shoving it in a real christmas tree stand. hopefully we don't wake up to the sound of a crashing christmas tree one of these days.

here's the finished product. it's a little crooked and i had to make a tin foil star cause the other one was way too heavy.
charlie brown would be proud.

Hey Freya! Lindsey Miller here!

First of all, I love your tin foil star...super cute! Yay for Christmas decorations!

Secondly, we went to Jupiter for Thanksgiving also! That's the place I call home! You have family around there? It was the first time my boys saw the beach (lame, I know, since Levi is over 2 and hadn't seen it yet)!

Your blog is great!

Yay Freya! Thanks for your comment on my blog:) Your decorations look so fun! I love the fireplace DVD touch! Marquesas is right: the 1st married Christmas is just an irreplaceable day! Also, your sign looks mighty shnazzy. I wanted to make one of those so bad...I even shelled out the dough! But then my wisdom teeth got the best of me:( lame. Anyway...
You are neat:)

PS: I just posted this comment as Stace on accident...that's why one of your comments is deleted:)
