who put the fourth of july on a wednesday?

with the fourth being on a wednesday, and more importantly with brett being a studier, this year was the first year we haven't skipped town to celebrate in forever. the law exam is on friday so brett opted to keep his nose to the grindstone and study all day, so sad. i went to my sister's house all day without him. we walked in the neighborhood parade, played in the water from the parade fire truck (that picture of e would definitely be the pic of the day), ate, sang disney songs, evan and karley & b came for a bit, painted nails, and we played clue, guess who, candy land, chutes and ladders, bingo, and hi ho cherry oh. after dinner i met up with kyre and lolly & g for fireworks in south wood. they did not disappoint. baby g (when did baby g become not a baby anymore?!) liked the booms, but was mostly more interested in her stroller. when they tricked us with a fake ending she was still ready to go after the fireworks kept going. haha, girl don't play no games when she's past her bedtime.

going back to work today after such a nice laid back day yesterday was quite cruel. can't wait for this weekend to celebrate our freedom from studying!
