hot yoga

about two months ago, six ladies from work all decided to go to hot yoga together. it was hilarious how nervous we all were leading up to it - we were worried about everything from passing out to passing gas during the hour and a half yoga practice in the 100 degree room. i've never sweat so much in my life. literally dripping, pouring sweat. we did survive though, no thanks to the clock. dianne made the mistake of looking at the clock and telling me, "we're only 45 minutes in?!" ignorance is bliss man. lindy's motto was my favorite though, "i didn't look at the clock cause i just told myself this was my life, this is just how it's going to be from now on." ha. we got hooked and i've been going once or twice a week ever since. a couple of my favorite poses (because i feel like i'm good at them) are eagle pose and toe stand. i made a personal record for balancing on my toe this past thursday, feels good to make improvement!

hot yoga = lots of baggage. carrying all this junk in after yoga just the straw that breaks the camels back sometimes. you have to have a towel on your mat so the dripping sweat doesn't make you slip and fall. a hand towel is also essential to keep the salty sweat out of your face, and then two more towels so your car doesn't get jacked when you drive off soaked are all necessary. sure hope "sweating out the toxins" is worth all the laundry.

I LOVE yoga but I've never tried hot yoga. I may have to join you two after this baby is born. Sweating=sweating off baby weight (hopefully!). HOLY TOWELS!! That is amazing. I love a good sweat. Go girls!

I've never heard of hot yoga, but it sounds like a horribly and awesomely good thing to do for yourself and your body. I love Lindy's motto too! lol!

I don't know how you guys do it! I almost died every time I walked outside in the AZ heat.

You have some skills. I'm so impressed with how much progress you've made in just a few weeks--it definitely keeps me motivated to keep going!! Even though it is brutally hot in there.
