extensive reading

i've been quite the little bookworm the past few weeks. any free time i've had has been devoted to advancing the plot. i'm talking even the walk from my office to the car has found me with my nose to my phone reading for more.

it all started by reading the book darcy's passions. (don't really recommend it, which is odd from someone as easily entertained as myself. there were some aspects that were interesting coming from mr. darcy's perspective, but overall i didn't dig the author's style.)
after reading that spin on pride and prejudice i wanted to reread the real deal. i've always been a fan of reading a real book and flipping the pages, but my copy of pride and prejudice was at my parent's house and too impatient to start, i downloaded a jane austen app instead, and let me tell you i'm hooked (besides the havoc it wreaks on my phone battery). i love always having my book with me for any spare moment and being able to read in the dark.
once i finished pride and prejudice i wanted to read the other jane austen books i'd never read before, so i read northanger abbey (loved her aside comments to the reader, that jane austen was one smart cookie), i just finished mansfield park (i love how she kept you guessing in this one), and the last two on my list of austen books to read are lady susan and love and friendship.
i also started gone with the wind this week cause katie just finished it and passed it along to me. it'll be slow going with that one since i can't get it on my phone for free and who wants to lug a nice hardback everywhere?

the upside to being a bookaholic is i'm really not missing our cable anymore.

full text poster. very clever.

p.s. sorry for the lack of postage on the blooog. this post pretty much sums up why.
plus there were some technical difficulties with my fall creek falls video (half the videos got stranded on a laptop in jax!) so that won't be done till the end of aug and i'm hunting an elusive picture for the next b & f post. that picture exists i know it does! i just have to find it!

p.p.s. want to see our annivesary plans? go here! i'm so pumped!

Don't leave out Persuasion! It's the best Austen.

You know, I've never read ALL of Jane Austen's work...I feel like a sham of an English major. I am not worthy.

But I totally agree with you on Mr. Darcy's Passions. Not up to par.

But that Jane Austen...genius!

And the serious Brett face is by far my favorite in that Jib Jib video. Soooo hilarious!
