you put the thanks in thanksgiving

this was my runner up pic of the day for thursday. aren't they so fun.

here's the lowdown on the holiday week for us...

wednesday
i got to leave work early! (very exciting, especially since i kept thinking that if i was still teaching i would already be off for wednesday!)
brett used just for men beard dye to get the intimidating brian wilson look for football the next day.
we went to walmart on possibly the dumbest day to venture down the baking aisle.
emily and her peeps hung out with us while i made pumpkin cheesecake

 thursday
brett woke up early to go play in the annual turkey bowl. he loves him some football.
on brett's orders, i woke up early to linger with credit card in hand on the double dollar deals website to buy as many st. james bay golf certificates as possible. mission accomplished.
(p.s. i say early, but really it was 9:00 which is sleeping in. because of my bum knee i couldn't run in the turkey trot, which would normally have me long gone from my bed at 9:00)
then i got to work on making homemade rolls for the first time ever, which i really did not realize would take so long. while i let those rise etc. i also watched the parade and made the pilgrim and indian head gear.
once brett cleaned himself up a bit we headed off to evan and karley's to stuff our faces.
we ate, played with the kiddos, took lots of silly pictures, watched tv, and ate some more.

friday
i got up bright and early at 2:30 after only sleeping for maybe three hours, to hit the black friday shopping with sarah. it was nuts. i've never woken up early to black friday shop before, and i was shocked at the line of people waiting to get inside target. we didn't really have any big ticket items were we trying to get, we mostly bought clothes.
when i got home i slept from 11 to 2:30. it was lovely.
after brett got home from the gun range and hitting up both sports authorities, we rearranged our house to make room for the christmas tree!
before we could do any decorating, we went to mom and dad's house to hang out with the kiddos one more time.
to finish off the night we went to see harry potter finally. it was steep, but i'm glad we forked over the dough. brett will be out of commission studying, so it was now or never. amc actually had two theaters showing it at 10:10 and ours happened to be the smallest theater possible, which is unacceptable for harry potter. so we switched to the other 10:10 showing in a normal sized theater that only had like five people in it. i'm so confused why they wouldn't fill up the normal one first, and then make people suffer with the small screen.

saturday
we spent saturday cleaning/rearranging and studying.
i went and worked at the game so i got to go to my first ever fsu/uf game. and what a perfect game it was!
saturday night i made the rest of the rolls from the dough, and they were even better this time around (i think it's cause they had more time to rise).

sunday
we finally took the time to slow down and get some rest.
i put up the nativity and christmas tree! so exciting!

what a week.
now the countdown to christmas is on!
i'm so thankful for family and for the time we get to spend together!

Those thanksgiving hats CRACK ME UP!!!! You are so creative.

I reminded Ryan about the house key AGAIN for the 10th time so we'll see if he pulls through on Sunday.
