we spent another day-ish in tennessee after snowboarding. we got eye exams and amazingly enough neither of us have to wear glasses yet (brett's good eye just dominates his bad eye so much that glasses would be pointless, we were all surprised he didn't need anything)
brett was proud of his facial hair art. i just felt pretty trashy being seen with him in public. thank goodness he didn't keep it long.
on our way home we stopped at hammer's in the little town brett's dad grew up in. they had some pretty cool stuff there (it's mostly reject stuff that has something wrong with it like tjmaxx, except this store is old skool and they handwrite all their signs and have all kinds of random stuff) i got some express pants for like four bucks
rockin out in a hat from the war of northern aggression (as brett's dad likes to call it)
once we got to alabama we stopped a store called unclaimed baggage, they are a huge goodwill basically except instead of people donating stuff.... they buy the unclaimed bags from the airport. it seems kinda jacked, like they're stealing other people's stuff, but i guess they just buy bags with no names and bags people don't want to claim cause they've stolen the stuff. for example someone bought a barbie here once, on the way out the door their kid popped its head off and inside the barbie were five $100 bills. money laundering on our airways? i think so, but at least this mom made a profit on it. you can see all kind of crazy stuff they've found in bags on their website (like a live rattle snake in a bag and a nasa camera in another)
