timmy gets married & that happy weekend we thought we were getting a free boat

last weekend took us back to st. george island for brett's cousin timmy's wedding. it was another beautiful weekend at the beach that made me never want to come back to real life (i did take monday off to stay longer).

brett's mom is the general manager for the private community on the island. she got a call complaining about an abandoned catamaran that has been on the beach for years so it needed to be moved. if the owner didn't claim it, his mom got to keep the boat. brett was so happy, especially after we went and scoped it out on friday (the beach was so beautiful that friday night, i'm so sad i only had my phone camera to capture it!) and it was in pretty good shape. unfortunately, after we moved it off the beach and back to brett's mom's house, the owner came forward and claimed it. oh disappointed hopes. once brett gets a job, i'm sure he'll find a way to have a boat again.
the wedding and reception were saturday. timmy and julia, who live in mississippi, had a destination wedding here because he proposed on this beach. being the tech savvy bestbuyers, they facetimed the wedding back home too. a wedding on the beach was a first for a lot of us, so there was some debate about what one wears to a beach wedding. casual won out in the end, it was definitely a laid back theme. my favorites from the wedding: julia's dress was gorgeous, they had the cutest little flower girl, tracy's husband built the arch for them on the beach (love it!), julia's anemone bouquet, and of course spending time chatting with family.
after the reception at karen's house, we went for a dusk swim in the ocean with amy, miikael, sarah, andy, and lexa. it must be dolphin season, we've seen them everyday we've been at the beach these last two weekends.
we spent the rest of the weekend enjoying the beach, hanging with the gray's, playing with newdog (and facetiming newdog to bill/katie/emme), eating yummy food (veggies from the farmer stand, grillin' out, karebear creations, and up the creek in apalach), i netflixed 30 rock, and of course brett studied.

p.s. did you notice with the blog redesign that the creative outlet link is gone? emily and i decided to just incorporate our crafty posts into our personal blogs. we've already moved all the posts over.
r.i.p. creative outlet, you were a fun little sister project, but after being neglected for so long, i think we all knew your death was imminent.

Amazing beach shots! We didn't see ANY dolphins when we were staying on Topsail Island, NC! The water must have been too cold. I've seen them so many times in the gulf, so maybe they just like to hang out there!! I wanna know what you wore to the wedding!! no pics of you guys :-(

face time....I have that on the ipad but I've never used it....

the photos came out amazing!! I know the non camera phone would have been cool but these came out great! Beach weddings are really nice. Too bad about the boat but yes I can see Brett getting one "when he makes his first million" as Chris would say. haha =)

That wedding arbor looks so good! I love it so much, and want one in my backyard someday.

Also, your pictures look amazing. You need to give me some tips on taking pictures of people--I feel like I've hit a wall when it comes to that!
