leap

i think i've been brainwashed.
during last week's episode of 30 rock about wearing blue and yellow for leap day (or you get pinched), i thought to myself, "is that real? can i remember that tradition from real life? i don't even have anything blue and yellow in my closet." then they introduced the easter bunny type character "leap day willem" who hands out candy because it's a real holiday with a parade and everything and i realized, oh that's definitely not a real tradition. duh freya.
>> fast forward to this week >>
last night while i was falling asleep i decided on my outfit for today to help streamline my morning routine. i caught myself walking out the door this morning wearing what?
blue and yellow.
well played television media. please remember to use your mind powers for good.

this was all really just a ploy to have post on february 29 since who knows the next time i'll have the chance to do that.... ha.

p.s. did you hear that december news story about all those samoans who missed their birthday last year? so funny to think a country can choose to skip a day. those guys have a little taste of what it means to be a leaper. cooper turned four this week. can't believe it. seems like just yesterday he was almost a leap day baby and now he's four. nuts.

I loved that episode! baha! I wondered if the tradition was real, too...lol! i thought about how fun it would be to throw a leap day party where everyone had to wear yellow & blue and we'd watch that episode...but it didn't happen...boo! BTdubs, your outfit looks like it was mighty cute:)

first let me just say that I could look at the photos on your blog all day long. for real. I love them. In fact I was picture harvesting just the other day so I could beef up my Brett and Freya section in iPhoto. Anyways.. I love how you write. It's so fun to read about brainwashing and Samoans in the same post :) love you.

Can't believe Cooper is 4....that means we celebrate our 4th anniversary this summer (we as in me & todd and you & brett incase anyone reading this comment thought otherwise).

is it just me or does it seem like leap day got pretty talked up this year? i wouldn't be surprised if people started a new tradition!
