ugly christmas sweaters are so in right now

this weekend meagan and i threw an ugly christmas sweater party for the young couples in our ward. it was a blast. i love any reason to dress on assignment and dress ridiculously.

everyone is having ugly sweater parties it seems so goodwill was fresh out of them. we had to make our own, thank goodness for glue guns. brett was a kind soul and swapped sweaters with me cause that cream sweater just wasn't fitting right. it was a lot funnier to see him in a ladies' sweater on top of the ugly pattern, but it did turn the stocking candy cane dispenser into something a little risque and awkward. that bell necklace he's wearing is from when i was in elementary school! ha i knew i held onto that thing for a reason!

here are some of the girls with their awesome sweaters. i love the poinsettia idea and how lindy pulled ornaments off her tree to use as earrings - with the tree hooks and all!

the party was bring your own mug for hot chocolate and wassail. i made crock pot hot chocolate i'd seen on pinterest and boy i wish i could have had some too! it was so rich, "like drinking a candybar!" recipe here. the wassail was legit though so i can't complain. lindy had the best mugs. so cute.

we played a name game that meagan and ryan taught us (kinda of like charades to guess names we all wrote down) and chit chatted for the rest of the night. that game was hilarious but also hard! definitely using it again!
