three years later

i can't believe we're celebrating our third anniversary today. i remember when we got married and karley and lolly were giving me all this advice, i thought they were such pros and that two years was a long time to be married. how did we already make it to three? (karley and lolly both just celebrated their fifth anniversaries which also seems like a far off thing, but i know our fifth will be here too before we know it. come to think of it, we've known each other for five years now. that seems like just yesterday and a different lifetime at the same time.)

this past year flew by; it's mostly been just plugging away at school and work, but we've had a good time. brett's crazy and tries to get my goat (a lot), but he's also a little softy who makes me laugh. i'm glad he's mine. on sunday i woke him up with breakfast in bed (i decided to be nice since it was our anniversary eve eve, so instead of cruising pinterest with my extra time i made him fruit and waffles). he woke up confused but then a goofy grin spread across his face and he said,  "you're too good to be true." (to which i replied, "i know" ha.) and as i was getting ready this morning the first thing out of brett's drowsy, half awake self was, "mmhasfppy annsldiverposary." i said "what'd you say?" he cracked open an eyelid, "happy anniversary," and then he hit the snooze button for another twenty minutes. oh how i love this kid.

this song has been stuck in my head today. i love you more today than yesterday, but not as much as tomorrow. i love you more today than yesterday, but only half as much as to-maah-ah-row-oh!
