anniversary part 1

we went low key for our actual anniversary day since we're really celebrating with an atl trip (woo hoo!).
we kicked off the evening with a romantic steam cleaning of the living room carpet. oh domestics, does this mean we're an old married couple?

todd and sarah steam cleaned their carpets before they moved out that morning so we returned the rug doctor for them and squeezed a little steam clean in ourselves. when we returned it to publix we picked up a sub to share for dinner.

here's grumpy brett adjusting his hat cause i told him he looked like his dad. it was the loose hat and the tall socks with tennis shoes that just struck me all of the sudden with how the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. it didn't help brett's pride either that i kept laughing and talking about it when we went to play tennis. he was playing/walking/moving just like his dad too.

eating a buffalo chicken sub was probably not the best choice before tennis. blah. brett dominated as usual (with no effort) but i did surprise him with a few returns. i really do like playing tennis with him, it might not be challenging for him but it's fun for me. after tennis i suggested going to sports authority to get new tape for my racquet and we ended up window shopping for all the things we wish we could have from there (it's a long list). i told brett he really lucked out with me since i was the one who chose to play a sport and go to sports authority for our anniversary. he said yeah but that wouldn't have flown if we weren't going to atl. ha, probably true. we drove home watching some amazing lightning and made it inside to listen to the thunder just before the rain came.

and pardon me for pulling out the old cliche "i'm married to my best friend", but it's times like these when i realize it's just the truth and that's all there is to it. here's to many more years of effortless date nights, chatting, spending time together, and doing things we love together.
