happy happy birthday to my mom and dad!
so silly. i love em.
i don't even know where the ankle shake started.
their birthdays are only three days apart (and a few years).

now you can see where i got my side part from.
here's my dad many moons ago, before the wife and kids. wasn't he a stud? looking so pensive eh? that's him in a nutshell. he's one of the most knowledgeable people i know. the go-to guy for any question you might have.
when brett saw this picture the first thing he said was "he's like the hidy ho neighbor." (remember home improvement? remember the neighbor wilson? you never saw his whole face -- even without my dad's usual beard, he managed to get his face covered in this picture, ha.)
that's me and toddly. we're probably about 3 and 5 in this picture.
this is one of my favorite pictures of my mama.
i love the little moment we're having together. you can just see the love in her face and how much she cares. and that's her in a nutshell. the kindest, most caring person i know. she's a natural nurturer, and always reaches out to others (which used to embarrass me back in the day -- hello we're in publix, let's just shop, not strike up new friendships with strangers. now i wish i was more like her.)
i wish i could lasso the moon and give it to them with a shiny red bow!
psst -- don't you just love old school pictures? me too! they're my favorite. the only problem is the scans my scanner churns out aren't the best quality. any of you hm ladies out there doing a scanning shindig anytime soon? count me in!
