swim, bike, run, repeat

only 8 days until the triathlon in jax! i hate how it just sneaks up on you like that! i feel much more prepared though than i was last year, and hopefully it pays off. my goal is to beat my time from last year (which will also let me place in my age group if i'm lucky). i trained outside a lot more this year and spent a lot more time on a real bike instead of a gym bike. i can even ride my bike one handed which i never would have thought possible last year. lately i've also been running from work (the stadium) to the capital. it's hilly, but i really love the scenery, i love downtown. i actually finally used mapmyrun.com this week to map my own run instead of looking up other people's and it was aaah-mazing. i plotted my own downtown 5k and 10k and my own 5k and 10k by my house. it's fun to play on the map and see how far it really takes to get around in this town, you should check it out.


right now on my lunch break i'm reading a book called "runner's world guide to cross-training" it's pretty useful. you can check it out from the ol public library. i was reading through the list of all these things that inefficient/slower runners do, saying that's me, that's me, that's me. so i think once the triathlon's over i'm going to work on my running form... and perhaps do a half marathon.

sweet. I think that list of runner tips for me would start with: "slow and inefficient runners only get as far as putting their shoes on" I totally wish I could run, but alas life has other plans at the moment :) i'll be rooting for ya and your big day!
