your donuts make me go nuts

happy birthday to brett! (last week) ha
last year i went a little overboard for the big 25, so this year we went low key. i had more fun with the birthday surprises from last year than brett did, and who's birthday is it anyway?
i wanted to make an awesomely delicious, awesomely decorated cake, but seeing as how brett isn't too interested in cake, i restrained myself and went with one of his favorite things in the world instead.

a krispy creme donut cake! mmmm. i kept it a surprise for as long as i could (like i said i love a good surprise a lot more than him and his impatient self). i banished him from the kitchen and was surprised he couldn't smell the hot nows when i was assembling the "cake".
you like brett's birthday shirt? bill and katie have gotten him lots of mexican wrestling masks over the years, so this year they got him a shirt with a mask on it! ha! the best part is that it even laces up in the back like the masks.

singing time. those were some stubborn candles, but well worth the sparkle.

we enlisted all of my family to come over to help us eat the two dozen donuts.

we now have a whiteboard in the man cave courtesy of robel, so we played some pictionary! except we don't have pictionary so we used apples to apples cards which made it a little more challenging.

for the weekend after his birthday we went and hung out with brett's mama at the beeeach.

here's brett on his mom's road showing off his bike skillz. please notice the skid marks his tire was making, he's nuts. we also brought our road bikes with us and road up and down the whole island. it was great. the rain spared us and we got to ride 16 miles. the best part was brett finally put tape on my handle bars so now they aren't so slippery... i can ride my bike with no handle bars, basically. this makes it a lot easier for changing gears and drinking agua.

part of the reason we went down there was so brett could finish up the awesome retaining wall he made. i even helped drill in some screws there at the end. his mom's house looks great now that she's got that and a driveway and parking pad.

now all we need is a sailboat again and hopefully before brett's next birthday.
