warning: sorry i don't usually write long posts, it's hard to focus to do all that reading, but this time it just happened. my bad. so i'll bold and change the font of important words if you want to just skim and get the gist of my story
i'm supposed to be studying for exams, but we all know how that goes, so here i am blogging instead. shh don't tell brett, i'll be in trouble for not being on task! i've had a couple requests to blog about my ridiculous saturday (another day i was going to study and never ended up doing it). it turned out to be the day my car decided to get back at me for all smack i've been talking about it lately. for example, karley's car has twice the miles and is a year older and runs beautifully and has cold ac. brett completely jinxed me last week by saying, "isn't your car due for something to break?"

so here's how the day went...
first off, lolly called me to see if i'd be interested in crashin the pool at talla villa with her. i can't turn down some pool time. so i excitedly hopped into my suit etc. and left brett's sad self home to study. sucker! my gas light had been on, and i was planning on stopping at the gas station down the skreet from my house on the way to lolly's. first though, i decided to pull in to the dollar store by my house so i wasn't recklessly driving looking for my cell phone. so lame, i didn't have it. so i popped it in reverse to head back home, but once i got onto the road my car gave up on me and i just instinctively pulled over (which happened to be in the other dollar store, jealous i get two?) it died on a hill so i couldn't exactly coast up it to get in a space. so there i was stuck in the middle of the dollar store entrance without my stupid phone! lame! i borrowed a random girl's phone who was walking in the store and brett came to my rescue. he made me turn the car back on and it died again in sight of the gas station. he pushed me until i could coast up to the pump. i felt like suuuch an idiot! my first time running out of gas ever, and the worst part is that if i would have just waited to look for my phone when i was at the gas station i would have made it no problem.
okay so after that rocky start i made it to lolly's and we just took my no ac car cause it's just a two second drive over to talla villa. when we got there we discovered lil miss prego sarah needed a bathing suit and todd had to take their car so we got to cruise in the wagon. we went to target, but no luck. so we dropped sarah off at the mall (so we wouldn't have to walk around in our shawty shorts/bathing suit coverups) and got tropical smoothie while she shopped. then on our way back to the mall there was a mysterious splash of water on my windshield that smelled like nasty fish. we were so confused cause there were no cars around us to splash us. so we kept on going on down the road. doo da doo. it wasn't till we got back in the mall parking lot that we noticed an exclamation point light was on in my dashboard and the engine heat needle was trying to bust out of the gauge past red. great. to top it off there were no spaces to quickly pull into for my car to die! finally it sputtered to a halt in a far away space and once again i had to call brett to stop studying and come save me. luckily this time i had a phone and a lolly with me. sarah came out of the mall to find my car with the hood open and us just chillin, waitin for brett. on a good note sarah did find a very cute maternity swimsuit so she can lounge in the pool all summer with her pregnant self. once brett got there he found the problem in two seconds (where do boys learn all these useful skillz?) turns out a hose got a huge crack in it and the water/antifreeze wasn't just leaking it was pouring out of the car (hence the fishy mystery liquid on the windshield) brett, being the little knight in shinning armor that he is, took us to the pool so we could get some color in our cheeks while he and drove around trying to track down the part (which is always impossible. pretty much every six months a hose cracks and they always have to be special ordered from ford, no quick fixing it)
finally we came back to the mall with the broken hose that brett ghetto rigged so we could move the car a mile to kyre and lolly's. not wanting to drive my jacked car, me and lolly took brett's to her house. the problem there is that his car is a stick and while i can drive stick i don't like to because it stresses me and out. i always just picture myself rolling back in
to someone or stalling at the exact wrong moment when someone is going to hit me. lolly got to be my copilot on this little trip, thank goodness so i could have some moral support.
looking on the bright side there were many good things about this day: at least this didn't happen on my way to an exam this week, my car died in mostly convenient places to pull over, i got to spend some quality time with lollisha, and we got to swim
so these pictures have nothing to do with my crazy day on saturday, but they were some of my only pics of my car on my computer so i thought i'd share this funny little story too. once with a car full of my cross country team mates, being a little too hyper, i accidentally put the car in reverse instead of drive and did this to my car by hitting another ford. the other car was built ford tough and nothing happened to it, but of course mine's always strugglin. handy man evan popped out the dent for me, it's a huge different in the before and after! he just jumped on it in the grass ha once again, boys have car skillz. anyway it's been over three years since this incident and i have yet to replace that busted light. ha

This post makes me laugh....what good times! I was slightly confused as I was walking out of the mall on why the hood was open but I thought maybe the car was just airing out!! :)
