the widowmaker

so brett bid on a car on ebay last thursday, and he won... i don't know who was more surprised that he won... me (because i found out after he bid that he was trying to get it) or him (because he didn't expect to win since the car price always shoots up in the last few minutes of the auction). needless to say he was in trouble, but he got off way easy (i couldn't be mad at him if he was driving all the way to boca the next day to pick it up without me! i was seriously worried/uneasy about him taking such a long drive without me).we (actually he) have been looking for a car for a couple of months now since his accord is dying. i'm glad he finally found a winner so he can stop obsessing over looking up cars. i don't know what he's going to do with all that extra time.
evan and karley are living with us right now so they witnessed the entire thing, from brett bidding, to me giving him the silent treatment. evan said the car should be named the widowmaker, but it's too little and cute for that name.
pretty sweet black stripes huh? i like to call them the racing stripes even if they technically aren't. i guess since it's the base model they couldn't afford extra paint there.
.
we really like it though, it's so much smoother on the highway than the accord, and i think it's much more comfortable. the only problem (besides the lack of cruise control) is that i just have to get some more practice and confidence in driving a stick.
and i guess one more problem is that now brett has three cars! it looks like a party at our house all the time with our four cars and karley and evan's two.
so if you're interested in a 70s FJ cruiser, or an accord with transmission problems, you just give us a holler.

it will be sad when the cruiser is gone. i'll have to scan and post some pictures of the cruiser in its glory days. back when it actually went muddin' and cruisin' around town, unlike now when it just holds down the fort at our house

Freya, I love reading your blog! Such an entertaining story teller, you are:) Congrats on the new car-- Stace almost got that kind because of the super good gas mileage. That is fun that Karley and Evan are with y'all right now-- can Stace and I come sleep over, too?! It'd be a party!

I agree with Kim...I always love reading your blog!

You are a much better wifey than me! I would be livid!

I'm glad you guys like it! It's very cute...those racing stripes totally seal the deal as far as it's cuteness is concerned, lol!
