graduation part III: the party

after graduation we had family over for a barbeque to celebrate! i wanted to rent the pie cart from your pie for him, but they said our party wasn't big enough. brett ended up eating there for lunch anyway though!

bill was kind enough to be our grill master. the veggie kabobs were definitely my favorite part of the menu. the turkey burgers were less than popular.

i don't know how many times i told jp i wished lindsey lived here so we could double date when they drug me out to eat on the weekends instead of me being their third wheel! so happy they finally get to be reunited! (even if it is in alabama.) p.s. my camera was on the wrong setting all night so lots pictures are slightly blurry. drats!

karebear was sad to see jp leave. (psst -- and see that ketchup bottle on the left! little dollar store purchase that i thought made a big difference for the bbq vibe! brett thought otherwise.. puh.)

katie's always up for a photo op with me :) i really should have done more posed pics like this throughout the party. i felt like i had so many pics from candid shots but the problem with candid shots is sometimes candid faces are a little strugglin.

uncle andy slinging the boys around. cooper was so cute and shy. took jack having two fun turns to persuade him it was ok. i hope the next place we live has space like this. love it.

while julie and miikael playing with emme is very cute, the real reason i posted this picture is brett and jp in the background. caught a little tender moment between those two. hahahaha. i like how brett's buzzed hair feels too jp.

i love this little shot of cooper and dad. hands on hips discussing his play options. one day he won't have to look up when they talk.

"brett is one smart cookie!" cookie bar. my dad, karley, and lolly provided the cookies. beggars can't be choosers so i told them to just make whatever was easiest and didn't request a vegan option. upon learning this, brett was quite indignant that there wouldn't be cookies he could eat at his own party. brett's mom saved the day by running to earthfare to get him his favorite vegan cookie dough. she stocked our fridge with it too! thanks karen! (funny side note: brett's a cookie monster with this cookie dough so i hid a pack out of the 6 she bought so he wouldn't eat them all in two days. when he ran out he was desperate for more and wanted to know if i'd hid any. luckily i was in another room cause my face gave me away when i said, "nope!" he even looked in the fridge but didn't find them! oh i was dying. i came clean last night and we enjoyed the cookie dough that he deemed "tasted old". ha)

and last but not least i couldn't help myself with some sugar pills as party favors! more on these and other party details (like the menu recipes) to come!
