the day after the fall ball we went sailing with friends at st. george. it was chilly and sleepy. it was also good and windy. marc jones didn't much enjoy the rough sailing. we went and saw brett's mama afterwards (she was still running karen's deli at this point) and he rescued some old treasures from her shed - jean jacket included.
the real significance of this day (nov. 4, 2006, if you're keeping track - which is actually why i decided to post this today) is that it was the day of the first kiss... well the first kiss and then take two (the real first kiss).
brett was taking me home in his sweet benz as usual. we were at the round-about by my house, mid-turn, i was sidled up next to him resting my head on his shoulder, he was talking on the phone to i can't remember who... and then all of the sudden he nonchalantly turned his head and planted one on me. i thought to myself, "did that just happen?" it was like he was just too happy to contain himself and yet he was also so comfortable with us that he could just plant one mid-sentence. he kept on driving as if nothing had happened (and still doesn't remember doing that for some reason).
take two was two miles later when we got to my house. at the top of the driveway. all i remember is happiness and excitement. and practically skipping into the house.
that was a good weekend.
